About the role:

Are you ready to join a strong Smelter team as the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor? This position supervises, advises, and coordinates the work of mechanics under their direction. Warrick Smelter seeks a professional to ensure safe and efficient execution of scheduled work, supervise crew activities, analyze equipment history, and respond to emergencies. The role may involve first or second shift, with weekend work required.

Key activities:

  1. Troubleshoot equipment failures on-shift and collect data for reliability analysis.
  2. Lead safety pre-job reviews and observe work completed on shift.
  3. Improve the efficiency and quality of assigned work and address emergency jobs promptly.
  4. Submit accurate reports of work activities.
  5. Coordinate company policies related to personnel.
  6. Maintain close communication with production, support groups, maintenance planners, engineers, and other supervisors.

What you can bring to the role:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience in heavy industry (aluminum, steel, mining, paper/pulp, etc.) with maintenance/troubleshooting on rotating equipment (pumps, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs and hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
  • Experience using a CMMS and applying process data for troubleshooting.
  • Understanding hydraulic and pneumatic systems and material conveying systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes, and standards.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work on different shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Preferred skill:

  • HVAC maintenance experience is a plus.

Note: Shift availability varies based on experience.
