Job summary

BCore is seeking a SME Systems Engineer in Herndon, Virginia to architect and deliver mission-critical IT solutions across cloud, virtualization, and systems engineering domains.

You will apply deep VMware expertise, NSX/SRM/vSAN experience, and automation skills to design distributed architectures, support DR scenarios, and migrate workloads to cloud while partnering with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 16+ years IT experience.
• Experience installing and configuring vCenter Server.
• Experience with ESXi cluster servers.
• Strong VMware knowledge: vSphere, vCenter, Aria Suite.
• Experience implementing NSX, SRM, vSAN in DR or failover environments.
• 3+ years in infrastructure architecture and designing distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and engineer IT infrastructure to support mission-focused IT solutions.
• Collaborate across teams to deploy cloud and virtualization technologies.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• This position requires a minimum of a bachelor\'s degree and at least 16 years of overall IT experience.
• Ability to install and configure vCenter server
• Experience with ESXi cluster servers
• Strong technical knowledge of VMWare products: vSphere, vCenter, &/or Aria Suite
• Experience implementing NSX, SRM &/or vSAN in DR or failover operational environments
• 3+ years experience in infrastructure architecture and design complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning.
• Experience monitoring the health of VMs operating in various data centers
• Understanding of network & storage architectures, including peripheral interfaces (SCSI, RAID, Ethernet) and multi-processor designs (SMP)
• Experience virtualizing enterprise applications
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with VMWare 7
• Strong networking expertise
• Experience with cloud migration
• Experience with (automation/operations) integration across IT infrastructure

What you can expect from us

• The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $190,000 - 220,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
