Job summary

BCore is seeking a SME Systems Engineer in Herndon, VA to support mission-critical infrastructure. The role requires high-level IT experience, VMware knowledge, and cloud migration capabilities. You will design, implement, and monitor complex distributed systems for government customers.

The position offers exposure to ESXi clusters, vCenter/VMware tools, and DR/failover environments, with Saas-like operations and security considerations for the mission service domain.

Qualifications

• This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree and at least 16 years of overall IT experience.
• Ability to install and configure vCenter server
• Experience with ESXi cluster servers
• Strong technical knowledge of VMware products: vSphere, vCenter, and Aria Suite
• Experience implementing NSX, SRM and/or vSAN in DR or failover environments
• 3+ years experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems
• Experience monitoring the health of VMs in data centers
• Understanding of network and storage architectures including SCSI/RAID and SMP
• Experience virtualizing enterprise applications
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with VMware 7
• Strong networking expertise
• Experience with cloud migration
• Experience with automation/operations integration across IT infrastructure

• Understanding of network & storage architectures, including peripheral interfaces (SCSI, RAID, Ethernet) and multi-processor designs (SMP)
• Experience virtualizing enterprise applications
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with VMWare 7

• Experience with (automation/operations) integration across IT infrastructure What you can expect from us
• The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $190,000 - 220,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
