Job summary

Linxon seeks a Subject Matter Expert, Secondary Engineering to lead and execute protection, control, SCADA, and substation automation for high-impact infrastructure projects in Puerto Rico. You will collaborate with Project Leads, BIM, and Primary Engineers to deliver high-quality, safe, and reliable substation systems.

The role offers significant growth toward Lead Engineer or Team Leader within 3–5 years, with strong emphasis on technical excellence and client trust across the region.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years’ experience or a Master’s with 3+ years.
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) certification is preferred.
• Experience with ETAP and SEL protective relays is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and MS Office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead secondary engineering for AIS/GIS, BESS, rail, data center, and wind projects.
• Develop specifications, BOMs, and coordinated designs for procurement and construction.
• Resolve vendor design issues early for cost-effective, integrated solutions.
• Provide protection, control, SCADA, and automation guidance to improve performance.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and project teams to address technical challenges.
• Review designs, support testing, and ensure quality and construction-ready deliverables.

In this influential role, you will lead and execute Secondary Engineering activities—including Control, Protection, SCADA, and Substation Automation—across a wide range of high‐impact infrastructure projects. These include Air‐Insulated (AIS) and Gas‐Insulated (GIS) substations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Railway Electrification, Data Centers, and both offshore and onshore Wind facilities.You will work closely with Project Lead Engineers, BIM Engineers, and Primary Engineers while reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
