Job summary

Abbott Nutrition division in Casa Grande, Arizona is seeking a Production Maintenance Planner on 1st shift. You will maintain work orders, PM/PdM, and ensure timely maintenance across the plant.

Responsibilities include field assessments, labor estimation, job planning, and coordinating spare parts and inventory. This role supports weekend/holiday coverage and interacts with Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in technical field or trade school coursework/experience; equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Understand and use both simple and complex instructions; read and write gauges/instruments.
• Good mathematical skills; technical planning thinking in electrical, mechanical, facilities.
• Good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.

• Maintain accurate spare parts data in partnership with storeroom.
• Monitor and update maintenance systems and scheduled work orders.
• Review, prioritize, and distribute maintenance work orders across shifts.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and improve work order documentation within plant maintenance systems, including calibrations, preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and corrective work orders.
• Conduct field assessments of work orders to determine job scope, required materials, labor, equipment, and sequencing.
• Estimate labor hours and resources needed to complete maintenance activities.
• Prepare job plans, schematics, material lists, tool requirements, and safety documentation.
• Develop and maintain labor standards for maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate procurement of stocked and non-stocked spare parts to minimize equipment downtime.
• Expedite parts delivery and ensure proper inventory management and storage practices.
• Maintain accurate spare parts data and inventory records in partnership with the storeroom.
• Monitor and update maintenance systems, including PM and PdM programs and scheduled work orders.
• Review, prioritize, and distribute maintenance work orders across all shifts.
• Communicate with internal customers to schedule maintenance activities and coordinate equipment availability.
• Support maintenance activities during weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and off-shifts, including coordination of contractors and plant personnel as needed.
• Provide hands‑on maintenance support during emergencies or staffing shortages when required.
• Verify completed work for quality, compliance, and adherence to maintenance standards.
• Serve as a liaison between Maintenance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other departments to support maintenance planning and execution.
• Maintain technical documentation, including electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance records.
• Monitor contractors, vendors, and external service providers to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, GMP, and engineering standards.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Associates degree in Technical Field; trade school coursework/experience or equivalent education or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be able to understand and use both simple and complex instructions, read and write both simple and complex directions, understand routine and complex machine operation and read and operate gauges and instruments.
• Must possess good mathematical skills and possess a good understanding of technical level thinking in field of planning (i.e. electrical, mechanical, facilities).
• Good interpersonal skills, customer service orientation and feedback are important to this position.

The base pay for this position is
$29.55 – $59.05/hour
