Serco is seeking an SME Anti-Tamper Engineer to support DoD programs at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. You will apply DoD security engineering processes, assess circuitry for reverse engineering risks, and provide technical oversight across acquisition and RFP activities.

You must hold a Top-Secret clearance with SCI access, 20+ years in engineering roles with DoD or government contractors, and have SAP/SCI experience in the last five years, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • This role requires an active TOP-SECRET clearance with SCI access and a current background investigation or Continuous Vetting within 5 years.
  • Minimum 20 years of engineering experience with the DoD, government, or DoD contractors.
  • At least 3 years of SAP or SCI experience within the last 5 years.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (CONUS).

Responsibilities

  • Apply DoD systems security engineering processes to weapon system protection and anti-tamper methods.
  • Assess circuitry, processors and memory for reverse engineering risks in electronics.
  • Support technology acquisitions including RFP development and program oversight.
  • Review contractor proposals for design feasibility and system compatibility.
  • Evaluate how acquired capabilities meet system requirements and specs.
  • Collaborate with labs and industry to assess vulnerabilities and lab exploitation capabilities.
  • Identify technologies to protect CPI in program protection efforts.
  • Work with Anti-Tamper evaluation teams to understand designs and vulnerabilities.
  • Improve anti-tamper/exploitation design, development, manufacturing, and sustainment.
  • Evaluate test plans and participate in system/subsystem/ component testing.
  • Conduct performance, supportability, schedule and risk assessments and trade studies.
  • Create and maintain security classification guides for the DoD AT community.

Position Description & Qualifications

If you want to work on cutting-edge DoD programs, Serco has a great opportunity for you! As a SME Anti-Tamper Engineer specializing in systems security engineering and microelectronics, you will be supporting the Special Programs Division, DoD Anti-Tamper (AT) Executive Agent Field Program Office (FPO) (AFLCMC/WAG-AT) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

This position is contingent upon the ability to maintain/transfer active Department of War (DoW) Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

  • Apply DoD systems security engineering process, weapon system Program Protection planning, and anti-tamper methods for new, existing and future weapons systems and capabilities
  • Assess integrated circuitry, industry standard processors, and memory chips and determine methodologies for reverse engineering electronic systems and integrated circuitry
  • Provide engineering support for technology and product acquisitions to include long-term planning, request for proposal (RFP) development, and technical oversight of ongoing projects
  • Review and analyze contractor proposals for design feasibility and system compatibility
  • Assess acquired capabilities in achieving system design requirements and specifications
  • Collaborate with Service labs and industry partners in assessing current and future weapons systems’ susceptibilities and vulnerabilities to an adversary’s exploitation; evaluate and develop friendly forces lab exploitation capabilities of US weapons systems’ electronic circuitry
  • For program protection, identify technologies and evaluate system/subsystem design functions and improvements to protect Critical Program Information (CPI)
  • Work with DoD Anti-Tamper Evaluation Teams to understand current designs and identify vulnerabilities to foreign and adversary exploitation
  • Assist efforts to improve US weapons system anti-tamper/anti-exploitation design, development, manufacturing, training, and sustainment
  • Evaluate system test plans and participate in conduct of system, subsystem, & component testing
  • Conduct engineering performance, supportability, schedule, and risk assessments and scheduling trade off studies
  • Create, staff, publish, and maintain security classification guides for the DoD AT community
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
  • An active TOP-SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and access to Special Access Programs (SAP) and have a background investigation current within the past 5 years or under Continuous Vetting
  • Masters Degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 20 years relevant experience with the DoD, other government agency, or DoD contractor
  • Minimum 3 years of SAP or SCI experience within the last 5 years
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (CONUS)
Additional Desired Experience And Skills
  • DoD Anti-Tamper and program protection planning knowledge and experience
  • Familiar with electrical and electronic circuits, Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standard communication circuits, electro-mechanical interface design, and software control of electronic circuits
  • Experience evaluating current fielded weapons systems to determine anti-tamper and reverse engineering susceptibility based on vendor design
  • Experience working within the electronic exploitation lab environment to evaluate current and new processors, memory units, and electronic circuits to exploit weaknesses, identify improvements to design, and develop new standards to deter technological exploitation
  • Experience in a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or SCI environment
