Job summary

IPT Associates (IPTA) in a hybrid role at Joint Base Andrews, MD, seeks a SME Database Architect to lead enterprise data architecture and data platform modernization for ANG CDAO operations.

Design secure, scalable data models and pipelines across analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives; oversee governance, lineage, and interoperability. Requires IAM Level III and active security clearance with 15+ years in data architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, Data Science, Eng, or related field.
• 15+ years of enterprise data architecture and data warehouse experience.
• Design strategies for enterprise database systems and security standards.
• Construct large relational databases and integrate with warehouse structures.
• Provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
• Establish goals, plans, and domain knowledge for projects.
• Directs and controls client activities with senior management interactions.
• IAM Level III certification.
• Active security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the technical authority for enterprise data architecture and data platform modernization supporting ANG CDAO operations.
• Designs secure, scalable data architectures for data pipelines, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives across government systems.
• Establishes data models, mappings, lineage standards, governance, and interoperability requirements.
• Leads planning and implementation for Azure Databricks, Palantir Foundry, Advana/Warfighter Data Platform and others.
• Provides architectural oversight and lifecycle management of CDAO data assets.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as the technical authority for enterprise data architecture, data warehouse management, repository administration, and data platform modernization supporting ANG CDAO operations
• Designs and maintains secure, scalable data architectures that support data pipeline development, data integration, reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives across multiple Government systems
• Establishes data models, source-to-target mappings, lineage standards, governance controls, and interoperability requirements to ensure data integrity, availability, and usability
• Leads technical planning and implementation activities for Azure Databricks, Palantir Foundry, Advana/Warfighter Data Platform, and other approved data environments while optimizing performance and reliability
• Supports Data Pipeline Development and Data Warehouse Management by providing architectural oversight, technical guidance, and lifecycle management of CDAO data assets

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
• 15+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and data warehouse management
• Design strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security
• Design and construct large relational databases. Integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality
• Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments
• Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge
• Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met
  • Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management
  • Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation
• May supervise others
• IAM Level III certification
• An Active Security clearance is required
