Job summary

SL TENNESSEE in Clinton, TN is seeking a Production Planner to plan production to meet customer requirements using SL Sequential Production principles. You will manage in-house part numbers, coordinate maintenance, and maintain SAP/MES data.

The role emphasizes daily/weekly/monthly production reporting, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional teamwork with engineering and accounting to meet CIS targets.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing scheduling experience preferred but not required.
• High school Diploma or Technical School Cert. or equivalent experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Proficient in SAP PP module.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of production planning and lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

• Plan production to meet customer requirements while optimizing base stock targets.
• Manage inventory for 1,805 in-house part numbers and drive root cause analysis.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules with engineering.
• Maintain SAP/MES work centers, MBOM, routing, and sequencing.
• Support production planning for new programs with production, launch, and costing teams.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist accounting month-end closing for PP modules to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and distribute production reports (OEE, KPI) and drive corrective actions.
• Provide backup coverage for production Supervisor, material handler, or operator as needed.
• Maintain and utilize production performance data for continuous improvement.

Job description

• Responsible for planning production to meet customer requirements while adhering to standard base stock targets and utilizing SL Sequential Production principles (Maximize outputs while minimizing inputs).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Inventory Management for 1,805 In-house Part Numbers (Root cause analysis & improvement plans)
• Manpower Utilization Planning & Coordinating Daily Headcount Requirements with the Production Supervisors
• Coordinate Machinery & Tooling Preventative Maintenance Schedules with the Engineering Team
• Create, Maintain, and Update SAP/MES Work Centers, Part Info, MBOM, Routing, and Sequencing
• Coordinate New Program Production Planning with Production, Launch, and Costing to meet CIS targets
• Actively Participate in CFT & TFT Activities (Especially UPMH or Scrap PPM)
• Support Accounting Month End Closing from the PP Modules to Meet Deadlines
• Daily, Weekly, Monthly Production Reporting (OEE, SWS KPI) & Coordinate Root Cause Analysis with Countermeasures
• Reporting of Supplies Expense Associated with Production Plan (Improvement Plans if needed)
• Back-up Production Supervisor, Material Handler, or Operator in Emergency Situations
• Management of Production Performance Data .
