Job summary

Bowman is seeking a remote Smartsheet Developer II to design, develop, and support Smartsheet-based solutions for the Senior Manager, Technology Systems & Automation. You will translate business needs into scalable workflows, dashboards, and automated processes, while building integrations with Python and Smartsheet APIs across enterprise systems.

The role emphasizes governance, standardization, and continuous improvement of automation frameworks within a dynamic organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience developing solutions in Smartsheet.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and API integrations.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar platforms for work tracking, version control, or deployment management.
  • Strong experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Experience working with APIs and system integrations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Document solutions, processes, and technical designs for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide troubleshooting, support, and user training for Smartsheet tools and solutions.
  • Manage multiple concurrent requests while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

Purpose

Responsible for designing, developing, and supporting custom Smartsheet-based solutions for the Senior Manager, Technology Systems & Automation. This role will support requests across the organization, translating business needs into scalable workflows, dashboards, and automated processes. This position combines strong technical expertise in Smartsheet, Python, and system integrations with a customer-focused mindset to help streamline project and operational processes across a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource for Smartsheet development, including best practices, governance, and solution design.

  • Act as a trusted partner to the Senior Manager, Technology Systems & Automation by advising on process improvements and automation opportunities.

  • Promote standardization, scalability, and reusability of Smartsheet solutions across the organization.

  • Drive continuous improvement in automation frameworks, workflows, and reporting methodologies.

At the Operational and Company Level
  • Respond to assigned Smartsheet development requests from teams across the business.

  • Gather and translate business requirements into effective Smartsheet solutions.

  • Design, build, and maintain Smartsheet sheets, dashboards, reports, and automated workflows.

  • Develop reusable templates and standardized solutions to support recurring project and operational processes.

  • Build and maintain integrations using Python and Smartsheet APIs to connect with other enterprise systems.

  • Support the Senior Manager, Technology Systems & Automation in aligning solutions with business needs and data requirements.

  • Utilize Azure DevOps to manage backlog, track work items, and support solution lifecycle management.

  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with organizational standards.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and elimination of manual processes.

Qualifications

Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $77,000 - $98,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
