Job summary

Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC) invites applications for a Federal Work Study position with the SMART Reader program. You will work with pre-kindergarten to third-grade students to develop reading and literacy skills under supervision.

Applicants must be enrolled in at least 6 LBCC credits, maintain satisfactory progress with a 2.0+ GPA, and have financial aid in place. Background checks and a CBR application are required as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC and have financial aid in place.
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress and a 2.0+ cumulative GPA.
• Fingerprint background check required; apply online via CBR and LBCC interview process.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with young children to foster a love of reading.
• Read with PCDC students as assigned and model reading enjoyment.
• Select appropriate books for PCDC students and complete daily activity logs.
• Assist Supervisor/Back up Supervisor when needed.
