Job summary

RBC in Jersey City is seeking a senior smart contract engineer to design, develop, test, maintain and optimize blockchain software for capital markets. You will prototype solutions, translate requirements into technical specs, and collaborate with PMs, business analysts and end users.

You will enforce security by adopting a defensive SDLC approach, contribute to architecture diagrams and docs, and mentor junior developers while sharing knowledge across offshore and on-site teams.

Qualifications

  • Holds a university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent technical skills with wide technology exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain and optimize all smart contracts.

  • Ensure software security by using a defensive SDLC and least-privilege principles.
  • Document software with developer docs, architecture diagrams and user guides.
  • Share knowledge with junior developers and onboard newcomers.
  • Collaborate with team to resolve issues and develop new products.
  • Follow dev-ops practices and SDLC principles where applicable.
  • Establish best practices, conventions and tool selection.
  • Ensure code reviews are conducted and technical standards upheld.
  • Work with Project Managers and stakeholders on goals and roadmaps.

Job description

  • Work with team to gather functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications. This includes interfacing with project managers, business analysts and end users.
  • Ensure software security by adopting a defensive approach to software development (both happy and unhappy paths) and Principle of Least Privilege (especially as this comes to blockchains).
  • Document developed software by providing appropriate developer docs, architecture diagrams and user guides.
  • Share knowledge with junior developers and help newcomers quickly onboard into the team.
  • Collaborate with other team members on resolving technical issues, improving current products and developing new ones.
  • Follow standard dev-ops practices and SDLC principles. (where applicable)
  • Help establish best practices, conventions and selection of development tools.
  • Ensure adequate code reviews are conducted and technical standards are upheld.

Required Education/Experience
  • Holds a university degree and or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent technical skills and familiarity with wide array of technologies.

The Expected Salary Range For The Above Position Is $135,000 - $225,000 Depending On Factors Including But Not Limited To The Candidate's Experience, Skills, Registration Status; Market Conditions; And Business Needs. This Salary Range Does Not Include Other Elements Of Total Compensation, Including A Discretionary Bonus And Benefits Such As A 401(K) Program With Company-Matching Contributions; Health, Dental, Vision, Life And Disability Insurance; And Paid Time-Off Plan.

Preferred Education/Experience
  • University degree
  • Strong exposure to web3.
  • Experience with modern technologies and dev-ops.
  • Poses strong grasp on modern design pattern and architectures.
  • Working with offshore, remote and onsite teams.
