Job description

Are you an experienced Electrician, Electrical Foreman, or Service Manager ready to grow your project management skills with a fast-paced, high-performing team?

This is your opportunity to join a rapidly growing company where you can take ownership of projects, make decisions, and get things done without corporate red tape.

If you know the electrical trade, enjoy keeping multiple projects moving, and want to grow your project management skills with a small, high-performing team where your contributions matter, this is your opportunity.

Electrical Special Projects Service Manager – Your Job Duties

As the Electrical Special Projects Service Manager, you will oversee approximately three projects at a time, each with crews of 2–3 electricians. You will manage small electrical projects, office tenant improvements (TIs), resource allocation, annual inspections, and service calls, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to a high standard.

  • Lead and oversee a field crew of 4 to 6 Electricians and Service Technicians, including scheduling work, directing daily activities, monitoring productivity, and providing technical guidance.
  • Manage electrical service calls, work orders, and small electrical projects from the initial customer request through completion and billing.
  • Schedule and coordinate field technicians, manpower, equipment, and materials to keep projects on track and customers taken care of.
  • Serve as the technical point of escalation for field technicians, troubleshooting complex electrical and special hazard fire alarm system issues and helping the team find solutions.
  • Oversee service and project work involving electrical installations, troubleshooting, special hazard fire alarm systems, testing, inspections, and fire suppression system interfaces.
  • Prepare and review estimates for electrical service work and special projects, including labor, materials, and project costs.
  • Monitor job costs, labor hours, material expenses, and profitability to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Manage change orders, review completed work orders, and ensure accurate and timely customer billing.
  • Work directly with customers to coordinate service needs, communicate project status, resolve issues, and identify additional service and project opportunities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, engineers, vendors, and other trades to keep work moving and resolve jobsite challenges.
  • Review electrical drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and project requirements to support field installations and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure field work meets applicable electrical codes, fire alarm requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate service records, project documentation, inspection reports, and job status updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling, field productivity, customer service, and overall service department operations.
