Job summary

Arconic Corporation seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Small Press for the Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) unit in Lafayette, IN. The role drives process improvements, product quality, and manufacturing excellence on the Small Press line to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities include technical support on the factory floor, leading capability studies, and collaborating with customers and internal teams on new opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience with electro-mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support to production operations.
• Lead product capability studies and process control improvements to improve throughput and manufacturability of product.
• Engage technical counterparts at customers to discuss application needs and new material/product opportunities.
• Support new product and process qualifications.
• Lead investigations of customer complaints and nonconformances using 8D, 5 Why and Root Cause Analysis.
• Collaborate with commercial teams on reviewing new business opportunities and current business challenges.
• Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and Control Plan activities.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
• Support IATF 16949, AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
• This position requires majority of time on a factory floor requiring PPE.
