Job summary

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Route Trainee to deliver and merchandise products across our NC region. You will place orders, stock coolers, rotate stock, and set up shelves and displays using handheld order tools.

You will learn route execution, support promotions, and serve customers with PBV standards in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, reliability, and physical stamina are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree not required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Able to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods.
• Must have good oral and written communication.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Self-starter with excellent follow-up and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Drives and maneuvers a truck with GVW under 26,000 pounds.
• Fills and merchandises coolers, displays, shelves per PBV standards.
• Delivers and processes orders/runs invoices; creates POS signage.
• Sells and executes promotions; serves customers as scheduled.
• Maintains end-of-day cash reconciliation and signed invoices.
• Communicates with customers and co-workers.
• Follows company rules and regulations.

Route Trainee Role Overview

The Route Trainee is responsible for delivering and merchandising products, which includes placing orders, stocking, rotating, and setting up shelves, setting up displays, cooler stocking/rotation, storage room organization, and product movement to the sales floor. The job also requires the ability to use a handheld to order products and/or run invoices.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Drives and maneuvers a truck having a gross vehicle weight of under 26,000 pounds.
• Operates a company car/pick‑up truck.
• Fills and merchandises all coolers, displays, racks, shelves, and/or vendors in accordance with PBV standards.
• Delivers and places orders/runs invoices in accounts, creates and utilizes point‑of‑sale signage.
• Sells and executes all promotions.
• Serves all customers as scheduled.
• Verifies all cases and monies are correct at the end of the day and invoices signed by customers.
• Communicates with customers and co‑workers.
• Follows company rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned based on business channel.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (highly preferred).
• Three to five years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Must have a positive attitude and must be detail‑oriented.
• Must be able to perform basic financial calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods of time.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
• Self‑starter with excellent follow‑up skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Must meet PBV driving qualifications.
• Able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
