JOB SUMMARY

The Small Fleet Mechanic performs repairs, diagnostic work, and preventative maintenance on small equipment. The role includes completing scheduled and unscheduled repairs based on work orders in the repair tracking system.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
2. Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements following company guidelines on small equipment.
3. Create and process work orders.
4. Document repair operations and track time according to company procedures.
5. Assist co-workers with diagnostics and repairs.
6. Requisition parts through the Purchasing Department.
7. Conduct technical inspections and document findings.
8. Maintain repair order documentation, including repair descriptions, parts used, and repair times.
9. Perform monthly inventories as required.
10. Keep the work area clean and organized.
11. Follow company safety policies and comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
12. Immediately report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• At least one year of experience with mechanical repair (e.g., automotive, power equipment, refrigeration, small engines).
• Or a technical degree with demonstrated knowledge of mechanical repair.
• Time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Own tools required.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification is a plus.
• At least one year of experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• College or technical coursework in automotive maintenance is advantageous.

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Safe driving record for the past three years.
