Job Description

Position Overview

Title: Small Equipment Operator - Plastics

Reports to: Eric Chapman

Direct reports: None

Overview

The Small Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating equipment such as hi-lo, forklift, sweeper, bobcat, skid steers, and/or small loader to assist in loading, unloading, grading, inspecting, buying, and transportation of materials.

Accountabilities

  1. Distinguish between numerous grades and types of materials using basic identification tests according to company standards.
  2. Perform required bore, during and after-operation user maintenance.
  3. Monitor equipment, troubleshoot, and notify management of any malfunctions.
  4. Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
  5. Prepare various documents and reports.
  6. Repair hydraulics, electrical, and other mechanical components.
  7. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to identify repair needs.
  8. Prepare and complete required paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Six months of operating small equipment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and preventive maintenance.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Accuracy in operation and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
