Job summary

Ace Hardware Coming Soon is seeking a highly skilled Small Engine Mechanic to diagnose and repair small engines, including lawnmowers and chainsaws, in a friendly, community-focused store located in Live Oak, FL. Compensation ranges from $17 to $20 per hour, depending on experience, with a supportive team and opportunities to develop skills on various small engine

Qualifications

• Understanding of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine operations.
• Positive, self-starter attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work weekends and some holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Good hearing and sight to analyze equipment and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair small engines including lawnmowers, chainsaws, blowers, and other landscaping and construction equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts and checking wear on cutting attachments.
• Inspect equipment for defects and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Use diagnostic software like Mtronic and Autotune to troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies needed for repairs.
• Explain repair procedures clearly to customers and document work performed.
