Clayton County in Georgia seeks a SMALL ENGINE MECHANIC to maintain and repair lawn equipment and related machinery across county facilities. The role includes servicing tractors, mowers, blowers, and other small engines, with recordkeeping of service logs and routine inspections.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED with about 1 year of related experience and a valid Georgia driver’s license, and involves light to moderate physical tasks in a county operation setting.
Adjusts, repairs, and services a wide variety of equipment with small engines.

High school diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by one (1) year previous experience and/or training that includes small engine and equipment maintenance and repair; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Physical Ability: Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals.
Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as odors or temperature extremes.
