Salary Range: $49,000-$62,000 annually, depending on experience.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and repair small engines and outdoor power equipment powered by gas, electric, or pneumatic power sources.

  • Electrical systems
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on small engines and outdoor power equipment.
  • Test equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Communicate with supervisor and or operator for clarification of defects and discuss preventive techniques with operators to minimize future repairs.
  • Assist with inventory management by maintaining an organized workspace, and tracking the use and location of tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Support the upkeep and maintenance of workspace, shop, and facilities.
  • Complete paperwork associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage, and completing work orders associated with repair time billing.
  • Assist with equipment and tool delivery when required.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Education

Qualifications, Skills, Responsibilities:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Mechanical Trade School certificate or degree preferred


Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) of year of professional experience in small engine repair


Position Related Skills

  • Current certification or the ability to become forklift-certified
    • Training and certification available
  • Current certification or the ability to become Aerial Lift certified;
    • Training and certification available
  • Current rigging signaling certification, or the ability to become certified
    • Training and certification available
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must have a current DOT medical card or have the ability to get one.
  • Basic computer skills as demonstrated by knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office 365 is preferred

Essential Functions

  • Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is a combination of being stationary and moving about the work location. Up to 75% of the work day is spent outdoors negotiating construction sites.
  • Must be able to climb ladders/stairs: Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces
  • Hands/Arms: Constantly uses machinery and other tools to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials
  • Sight: Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus in an outdoor environment. Must be able to; visually inspect work, look for small defects, small parts, and/or operate machines (including inspection); use measurement devices; and/or assemble or fabricate parts. Must be able to safely operate a vehicle with a valid driver's license.
  • Hearing: sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone andradio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment
  • Speech: sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio
  • Lift/Carry: Must have the ability to lift or manipulate 25 pounds and carry or push it 50-100 Feet
  • Bending/Twisting: Regularly
  • Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Regularly
  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required
  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments
  • Must be able to plan and organize work
