Small Business Banker
The Small Business Banker is responsible for driving net customer growth through the attraction, expansion, retention, and servicing of small business relationships. This role supports multiple banking centers within a defined geographic territory, focusing on their portfolio and business customers. The role involves calling on small business customers with up to approximately $3 million in annual revenues, with lending needs initially up to $100K, increasing to $250K in the future.
The trusted advisor will be committed to new business development, conducting quality conversations to build rapport and discover unmet needs, providing relationship servicing, and enhancing partner referral processes by following best practices.
Position Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Activities
- Service, execute, and impact customer relationship activities for the attraction, expansion, and retention of business customers.
- Provide effective onboarding and engagement by strengthening relationships, introducing products and services, and addressing customer questions.
- Acquire and retain business customers through partnership activities.
- Manage portfolio to retain and expand current relationships and increase the number of portfolio customers.
- Participate in community involvement to increase outreach and foster new business relationships.
- Proactively set appointments and hold regular meetings with portfolio customers to build trust and identify needs.
- Comply with policies, regulations, and security procedures to serve customers and ensure satisfaction.
Customer Experience and Partnership Activities
- Learn about new products, services, technologies, and customer service tactics.
- Enhance customer experience by aligning needs with Comerica's values and creating tailored solutions.
- Manage servicing requests and resolve complex complaints.
- Partner with banking centers to grow revenue and improve customer experience.
- Identify opportunities to introduce customers to small business, banking, merchant services, and treasury management partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of relevant experience.
- 3 years in consumer/business financial services sales.
- 1 year experience with Microsoft Office products.
Work Schedule: Category B - 3-4 days in office, 1-2 days remote. Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.For candidates in California, Colorado, Washington, New York, the expected salary range is:
- California: $85,000 - $152,500 annually.
Salary ranges are subject to change and depend on various factors including location, experience, and peer compensation. The salary is determined based on the work location.
