Small Animal Patient Care Intermediate And General Ward Technician (ANML HEALTH TCHN 3 VMTH)

Join us at University of California, Davis as a Small Animal Patient Care Intermediate And General Ward Technician (ANML HEALTH TCHN 3 VMTH).

Job Summary: Working independently in a hospital setting, you will be responsible for treating patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries, providing paraveterinary technical support to veterinarians, and supporting various clinical and facility needs. This role may be eligible for a hiring bonus.

Application Deadline: 05/15/2025 by 11:59 pm. Applicants will be screened weekly, and the position may be filled prior to the deadline.

Qualifications:

• Must possess or obtain a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 3 months of hire.
• No minimum education required.
• Experience in a Small Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician, including administering medications and blood collection.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current California RVT license.
• Experience with vascular and urinary catheterization, aseptic techniques, and emergency critical care.

Key Responsibilities:

• 50% - Small Animal Patient Care in the Intermediate Care Ward
• 30% - Small Animal Patient Care in the General Ward
• 10% - Quasi Instructor
• 5% - Clinician Support
• 5% - Facility Care
