Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care Service Assistant (ANML TCHN VMTH)

Join to apply for the Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care Service Assistant (ANML TCHN VMTH) role at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

Under supervision of the Small Animal Nursing shift supervisor, assist Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Veterinarians with prescribed medical treatments. Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, stocking areas, monitoring patient vital functions, maintaining inventory and equipment, and performing hospitalization and discharge procedures according to hospital protocols.

Application Period: One month. Applicants will be screened after two weeks and weekly thereafter. The position may be filled prior to the deadline.

Qualifications:

• No minimum license or education requirement.
• Experience with safe animal handling and restraint techniques for small animals.
• Interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups including clients, clinicians, students, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a veterinary assistant in a small animal hospital.
• Knowledge of hospital pathogens, disinfection methods, medical terminology, and disease processes.
• Skills to assist with veterinary treatments and procedures.
