Job summary

The Boyd Nursing & Rehab seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our geriatric care team in Kentucky. The PRN role focuses on evaluating and treating residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders, delivering high-quality rehabilitative care.

You will develop individualized treatment plans, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document progress, and educate residents and families on communication strategies and safe swallowing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP preferred; CF candidates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and resident goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions targeting speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia disorders.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
• Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
• Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and billing in accordance with facility policies.
