Job summary

Jacksonville State University invites applications for a 12-month Clinical Director & Instructor in Speech-Language Pathology. The role combines leadership of clinical education with a full faculty appointment, teaching courses, supervising practicum, and providing service to the program.

The successful candidate will design and oversee the clinical education curriculum, establish and maintain practicum sites, ensure compliance with CAA and ASHA standards, and foster community partnerships

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a CAA-accredited program.
• Current Alabama state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology (licensure within one year).
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA.
• Eligibility to hold a Clinical Supervisor designation per ASHA.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Clinical Director/Coordinator/Director of Clinical Education role.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee the clinical education curriculum to meet CAA standards and ASHA requirements.
• Identify and maintain external practicum and clinical placement sites.
• Negotiate and manage affiliation agreements with clinical partner sites.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and accreditation regulations.
• Lead liaison work with hospitals, schools, private practices, and rehab facilities.
• Provide direct clinical supervision to students in on-campus/off-campus settings.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate off-site clinical supervisors/preceptors.
• Monitor student competency toward ASHA certification standards.
• Document student clinical hours for accreditation reporting.
• Develop and maintain clinical education records.
