Job summary

Bethel School District in Spanaway, WA seeks a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to assist the Speech‑Language Pathologist in delivering therapy for students with communication disorders. You will tutor, support group activities, and help with data collection and progress notes.

The role is 7.5 hours per day, 180 days per year, with pay on the PSE Salary Schedule Level 11 at $33.69 per hour. Qualified SLPA license holders are invited to apply.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State SLPA license is required.
• Fingerprinting and background check are required.
• Must complete training in district infection control plan.
• May be required to obtain first aid certification.
• Valid Washington state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instruction of students individually or in small groups under the Speech‑Language Pathologist.
• Support therapy progression toward IEP goals and adapt materials as needed.
• Maintain progress records, logs, and end-of-year reports.
• Assist with classroom management and equipment/materials preparation.
• Monitor student behaviors and communicate progress with therapists and teachers.
• Record anecdotal observations of student communication behaviors.
