This hourly remote contractor role reviews AI-generated Slovenian content, creates high-quality reference material, and provides precise feedback in English to guide model improvements.

You will develop prompts and gold-standard answers, evaluate AI outputs for fluency and accuracy, and detect issues such as bias, mistranslations, or cultural mismatches

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in linguistics or Slovenian-focused field, or equivalent experience.
• Native or near-native Slovenian with strong reading and writing skills.
• Professional English proficiency at C1 or higher.
• 3+ years in writing, editing, localization, translation, or related language work.
• Deep knowledge of Slovenian grammar, spelling, punctuation, and morphology.
• Experience with formal, neutral, conversational, and other Slovenian registers.
• Attention to subtle meaning shifts and error patterns in Slovenian.
• Reliable, self-directed, able to work hourly, remote across time zones.
• Prefer experience in AI data training, QA, localization QA or rubric evaluation.

Job description

Pay: up to $25/hour

In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will work as a Slovenian Language Expert (SME) to review AI-generated Slovenian content and/or create high-quality Slovenian reference content, evaluating language quality and step-by-step reasoning while providing precise written feedback. You will assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to the prompt; identify errors in meaning, mistranslation, register, ambiguity, unnatural phrasing, terminology, and logical consistency; fact-check claims when needed; write high-quality rewrites and model answers that demonstrate best practices in Slovenian writing; and rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and overall quality.

This role is with SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, delivering training data for many of the world’s largest AI companies and foundation-model labs. Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and gold-standard Slovenian answers across multiple domains, including general knowledge, customer support, education, conversational writing, translation, localization, and culturally sensitive content.
• Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI outputs to improve fluency, correctness, tone match, register consistency, meaning preservation, terminology quality, and cultural appropriateness.
• Ensure Model Integrity: Detect unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias, mistranslations, ambiguity, policy-risk language, and culturally inappropriate phrasing; validate reliability across use cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Slovenian Language, Slovenian Literature, English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Native or near-native Slovenian proficiency, with strong reading and writing skills required.
• Strong professional proficiency in English, minimum C1, to follow guidelines and provide detailed feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language-focused work.
• Deep understanding of Slovenian grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, diacritics, cases, declension, conjugation, dual number, word order, tone, and style—able to explain why something is wrong and how to fix it.
• Comfortable handling multiple registers, including formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, and public-facing Slovenian, depending on audience and project requirements.
• High attention to detail when spotting subtle meaning shifts, awkward literal translations, incorrect case endings, agreement errors, dual-number mistakes, hallucinated claims, Croatian/Serbian- or English-influenced phrasing, or culturally mismatched wording.
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
• Prior experience with AI data training/annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, localization QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
