MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

In this exciting position the localization specialist will have a deep understanding of linguistic principles and be adept at creating, translating, and localizing content related to wellness, exercise, and nutrition. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to convey complex health concepts clearly and accurately, and a keen eye for detail. The linguist will ensure that all content is culturally relevant and resonates with diverse audiences, promoting a healthy lifestyle through engaging and precise language.

Responsibilities

1. Content Translation and Localization:
   Translate and localize fitness/nutrition/wellness-related content ensuring cultural relevance and contextual accuracy.
   Adapt content to reflect the linguistic and cultural nuances of the target audience while preserving the original message and tone.
2. Quality Assurance:
   Review and edit translated content for precision, consistency, and quality.
   Ensure adherence to industry-specific terminology and style guidelines.
3. Subject Matter Expertise:
   Stay updated with the latest trends, terminology, and innovations in the fitness/nutrition/wellness industry, including workouts, equipment names, exercises, and methodologies.
   Provide insights and expertise on fitness/nutrition/wellness-related topics.
4. Research and Development:
   Conduct research to support content creation and ensure the accuracy of fitness/nutrition/wellness-related information.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Sports Science, Fitness Management, Journalism, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in translation and localization, with a focus on fitness/nutrition/wellness content. Demonstrable expertise in fitness/nutrition/wellness, including knowledge of exercises, equipment, training methodologies, and fitness programs.
• Skills: Proficiency in English and the target language, Slovenian, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both. Strong understanding of fitness terminology and the ability to convey the specifics and nuances of fitness content. Excellent proofreading and editing skills. Strong research and analytical skills. Passion for fitness/nutrition/wellness and a deep understanding of the fitness/nutrition/wellness community and culture.
• Additional Requirements: Technology Savvy: Strong practical knowledge of computers and mobile devices. Familiarity with word processors, spreadsheets, and virtual collaboration tools. User of iOS/macOS systems. Proficient in typing in the target language using a local keyboard.
• Collaborative: Ability to work independently and remotely. Enjoys teamwork in a multicultural environment.

Compensation: $29 - $29 an hour
