Job summary

Global Language Center seeks a Slovak Language and Culture Instructor to teach adult learners at NFATC in Arlington, Virginia. Classes are conducted in person on the NFATC campus.

The ideal candidate has ILR level 2/2 English proficiency and at least three years of teaching experience, with proficiency-based or task-based curricula experience.

Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, using varied teaching methods, providing feedback, and integrating technology to enhance learning.

Qualifications

• ILR English proficiency at least 2/2.
• Three years of experience teaching the target language to adult learners in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct one-on-one and small group Slovak language classes.
• Use diverse teaching methodologies emphasizing speaking, listening, and reading.
• Use provided curriculum materials to teach classes.
• Provide students with encouragement and constructive feedback.
• Apply classroom management to create a respectful, student-centered environment.
• Conduct progress assessments to evaluate learning progress.
• Incorporate instructional technology into the program as appropriate.
