Job summary

Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana is seeking a Slot Technician to diagnose and repair slot machines while ensuring excellent customer service. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot devices, and assist with game conversions, ensuring compliance with Indiana Gaming Regulations.

Position Summary

The Slot Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs of slot machines, with infrequent assistance; possesses extensive knowledge of both mechanical and electronic aspects of slot machine repair; provides training or assistance to lesser experienced technicians.

Essential Functions
  • The Slot Technician I will analyze and respond to a variety of customer service related issues.
  • Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of component level electronic circuitry in gaming devices.
  • Responsible for the installation and removal of gaming devices.
  • Day to day preventative maintenance; troubleshoot ticket-in ticket-out and coin machines; performs hopper tests; clears coin jams and bill validator jams.
  • Assists in game conversions and firmware upgrades.
  • Investigates and verifies any ticket issues.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
  • Maintains and calibrates currency validators, executes machine moves, game conversions, installations, and floor upgrade of current ticket-in ticket out products.
  • Responsible to investigate device malfunctions of various gaming devices and clears coin bill and coin jams.
  • Performs the day to day repair and preventative maintenance of all slot machines. Performs other duties as deemed necessary by Management.
  • Perform work regularly, predictably and in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform work regularly and adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.
Non‑essential Job Functions
  • Attend seminars when needed.
Education And or Experience Requirements

Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have good communication skills. Must have basic computer skills. Must have electronic background or minimum two‑year experience in slot operations. Must have two (2) or more years’ experience in the Gaming Industry or an equivalent customer service environment.

Additional Requirements
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be twenty‑one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
Knowledge Of
  • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Team Leadership and motivational skills
  • Electronics at the circuit board level.
  • Technical experience and training with slots.
  • Electronic and computer programming.

  • This position spends time on the casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
  • Consistently communicate effectively with guests, as well as all levels of team members.
  • Observe and direct actions of subordinates/trainees.
  • Inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Use all machine test equipment.
