Job summary

WarHorse Gaming, a division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., is hiring a Slot Technician I in Omaha, Nebraska. You will install, repair, relocate, and perform preventive maintenance on slot machines to maximize uptime and guest satisfaction.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, and the ability to work varying schedules in a fast-paced casino environment. You will troubleshoot electronics, document repairs, and collaborate with slot operations to ensure smooth technical operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of Slot Technician experience or related technical field.
  • Electronics or PC degree/certification preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and slot management systems.
  • Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and touchscreen technology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on slot machines to maximize equipment reliability and maintain repair records.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic gaming machines to the component level.
  • Install, relocate, and remove slot machines and conversion kits per manufacturer specs.
  • Perform urgent repairs to minimize machine downtime.
  • Inspect new slot machines and conversion kits before installation.
  • Monitor machine performance and aim for maximum uptime.
  • Collaborate with Slot Operations and leadership for efficient technical operations.
  • Investigate slot machine variances and resolve issues per company policies.
  • Assist guests by providing information and support related to slot machines and gaming operations.
  • Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and solutions to management and team.
  • Maintain security of keys, radios, handheld devices, and equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and departmental guidelines.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Comply with Compulsive Gambling Plan and age-related regulations.
  • Maintain flexibility for varying schedules based on needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Slot Technician I is responsible for the installation, repair, relocation, and preventative maintenance of slot machines to ensure maximum uptime and provide an exceptional gaming experience for guests. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of equipment performance and guest service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with the Company's Compulsive and Problem Gambling Plan, including regulations regarding minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Maintain flexibility to work varying schedules based on operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced casino environment with exposure to:

  • Loud noise levels
  • Secondhand smoke
  • Cramped spaces
  • Moving mechanical equipment
  • Physical demands including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 75 pounds, and frequent use of tools and electronic equipment

Flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, is required based on business needs.

Licensing & Certifications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License.
  • No alcohol service or comp authority required.
  • No additional certifications required.
