Job summary

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. in Miami seeks a Casino Slot Technician to supervise the Slot Operation and ensure efficiency, guest service, and security per the Operations Manual.

You will troubleshoot slot machines and related equipment, perform scheduled maintenance, assist Casino Hosts with promotions, and submit daily reports while adhering to SEMS and safety policies to support a smooth onboard guest experience.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of point of sales systems.
• Intermediate to advanced ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• One year of prior experience as a slot technician is preferred.
• Current gaming license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical/electrical faults on slot machines and report malfunctions.
• Perform preventative maintenance of gaming equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Respond to patron inquiries regarding machines, features, terms, symbols and denominations.
• Repair and restore machine malfunctions including coin, bill or token jams.
• Refill slot and bill exchange machines after approval and verification by Casino Management.
• General maintenance and cleaning of Slot Operation machinery and reporting needs.
• Submit daily reports/logs of events, jackpots, hopper fills, complaints and suggestions.
• Assist in slot drop and record readings before collection of coins/bills.
• Identify regular slot patrons and assist Casino Hosts in tracking their play.
• Assist Casino Hosts in promotional activities including slot competitions and tournaments.
• Report to Head Slot Technician with recommendations and improvements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Familiarize with Safety and SEMS policies and follow procedures.

Job description

The Casino Slot Technician is responsible for the direct supervision of the assigned Slot Operation in accordance with the directives set down in the Casino Operations Manual. The Slot Technician will ensure that the highest standards of efficiency, guest service, and security are met in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. The Casino Management may assign a Slot Technician other duties outside the casino operation, which must also be performed to the highest standards of efficiency, guest service, and security.

Responsibilities

• Resolve all technical/electrical faults on all makes of slot machines, cash desk apparatus and gaming table equipment and report any machine malfunctions to Casino Management.
• Perform preventative maintenance of all gaming equipment on a scheduled basis as set out by the Fleet Head Technician.
• Respond to casino patron inquiries regarding the machines within the Casino Slot Operation, including features, terms, symbols and denominations.
• Repair and restore machine malfunctions including coin, bill or token jams.
• Initiate and process the refilling of slot and bill exchange machines after appropriate approval and verification by Casino Management.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of all Slot Operation machinery, including machine lighting, and report any maintenance requirements to the Slot Head Technician.
• Submit daily reports/logs of events, occurrences, jackpots, hopper fills, complaints and suggestions to the Slot Head Technician. Complete necessary paperwork when accessing machines.
• Assist in the slot drop and record the slot machine readings before the assigned collection of coins/bills.
• Identify regular slot patrons and assist Casino Hosts in tracking their play.
• Assist Casino Hosts in promotional activities including slot competitions and tournaments.
• Report to the Head Slot Technician on recommendations, improvements and overall operational aspects of the onboard Slot Operation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
• Familiarize with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for the position.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of point of sales systems is required.
• Intermediate to advanced ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English is required; additional languages are preferred.
• Basic to intermediate typing and computer software skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• One year of prior experience as a slot technician is preferred.
• Current gaming license is preferred.

Education

• Minimum high school diploma or foreign equivalent is required. Some college related education is preferred.
• Formal training in the repair and troubleshooting of a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment from a recognized educational institution is required.
