Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV seeks an experienced Slot Maintenance Technician to service and repair slot machines and related equipment on the casino floor. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and support guest needs with a professional approach.

Responsibilities include reading audit reports, maintaining performance databases, and learning new repair techniques while working diverse shifts to meet casino demand.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in slot maintenance or similar field.
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License.
  • Willing to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Knowledge of slot operating systems Kronos, Konetic, HotSOS, Everi and XChange Explorer.

  • Learn and understand slot operating systems (Kronos, including Konetic mobile dispatch, HotSOS, Everi, and XChange Explorer).
  • Provide clear direction and guidance to guests, respond to inquiries professionally.
  • Repair slot machines and components as directed to optimize guest experience.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to improve appearance and reduce downtime.
  • Review audit reports to ensure machines functioning properly and maintain floor performance databases.
  • Observe higher level mechanics to learn new repair techniques.
  • Circulate casino floor to identify machines needing repair or guests needing assistance.
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Basic computer knowledge to access/ input information and read/respond to email in order to perform job functions and assist guests.
  • Learn and understand slot operating systems (Kronos – including Konetic mobile dispatch, HotSOS, Everi, and XChange Explorer).
  • Provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to guests. Must be able to listen and respond to guest inquiries in a positive and professional manner.
  • Repair slot machines and component parts as needed or as directed by management. Replace component parts as warranted to optimize guest impact.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks as time allows or as instructed by management. Maintain the appearance and performance of slot machines and other devices as instructed for the purpose of improving guest impact and reducing down time for machines.
  • Review audit reports to ensure machines and system are functioning properly and correct any issues which arise in the process. Review and maintain floor performance databases and reports to improve understanding of overall impact and provide input to management.
  • Observe higher level mechanics, as time allows, for the purpose of learning new techniques in slot repair and improving job related skills and knowledge.
  • Circulate casino floor, watching for machines in need of repair or guests needing assistance. Check machine problem logs for any items in need of repair
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Comprehend and follow written and/or verbal instructions from management.
  • Use all required equipment to perform job duties, including soldering irons, power tools, electronics testing equipment, and various hand tools. Must possess own hand tools.
  • Ability to act independently while drawing conclusions from written and computer generated materials.
  • Detail oriented and self-starter with great organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high degree of accuracy in tasks.
  • Proactive and works well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability of complex reading, writing, math and task completion skills is required.
  • Must have the following skills: coordination, analyzing, supervising, instructing, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience required in a slot maintenance or similar field or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, and occasionally crawling and sitting during the duration of their shift.
  • Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry over 100lbs or less frequently.
  • The team member will frequently have repetitive use of both feet and hands and require frequent light and firm/strong grasping motions. Finger dexterity of both hands will be frequently required.
  • Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Team Member may be exposed to dirt/dust, odor, and/or secondhand smoke.
