Job summary

Domtar in Morristown, Tennessee is seeking a dedicated Slitting Operator to support our paper manufacturing operations. You will run several slitting machines, adjust setups, and keep equipment and work areas clean and safe.

You will maintain production records, verify raw materials, prepare orders to specifications, and complete production reports. The role involves minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

The location in Morristown, Tennessee, United States is seeking talent to fill the position of Slitting Operator. This job is full-time permanent.

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

• Produce paper rolls and maintain productivity from a variety of slitting machines (including adjusting and making setups); keeping equipment adjusted and maintained; keeping equipment and area clean in designated work area.
• Maintain records to include quality records.
• Prepare orders based on appropriate import/export specifications; enter data, track, gather information and generate standard reports.
• Assure accurate completion of mill roll requisitions; ensure that the correct raw materials are being used; responsible for filling out production report at the end of the job.
• Set up and maintain equipment; ensure that equipment runs in accordance with operational standards; perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure that correct raw materials are being processed; fill out various production reports.

Physical Requirements

• Weight lifted: Lower 0‑25 lb.
• Weight repeatedly lifted per shift: Occasional 0‑25 times per shift.

Work environment involves repetitive lifting in the lower range and occasional lifting in the higher range; exposure to electrical hazards, dust, moving machinery, noise, and odors. Goggles and earplugs may be required.
