production begins
Inspecting slitting machinery for defects
Reading drawings or other instructions to determine the number of cuts that will be produced
by a run, and adjusting settings accordingly
Monitoring equipment operation to ensure that it continues to run smoothly, efficiently, and
safely
Operating slitting machines by using hydraulic controls to start and stop equipment and to
adjust blade height and tension settings
Observing gauges to monitor cutting speed, tension settings, blade alignment, and blade
sharpness
Operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment used to cut up large rolls of material into
smaller rolls
Responsibilities:
