Job summary

Domtar Phoenix is seeking a Slitter Operator for the 2nd shift to support fast-paced production lines, focusing on quality, productivity, and a safe work environment. You will work with team members to achieve production goals and ensure equipment operates to specification.

Responsibilities include setup and operation of label equipment, applying adhesives and inks, monitoring product quality, logging production data, and participating in CI and 6S housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of machine operator experience and lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work all shifts.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Self-motivated, process-driven and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Ensure EHS compliance and participate in safety trainings.
• Operate and troubleshoot label equipment to meet quality and productivity targets.
• Prepare adhesives, inks, releases, and other chemistry as needed.
• Log production data into logs or computer systems.
• Coordinate daily with planning, maintenance, HR and other departments.
• Maintain 6S housekeeping and support packing and material movement.
• Assist in training and cross-training coworkers.
• Develop and roll out standard work and SOPs.
