The purpose of the Slitter Operator position is to convert in-process or finished master rolls according to production orders and customer specifications.

Job Description
The Slitter Operator is responsible for preparing and processing materials in and out of the slitting operation, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Follow all plant safety rules and standards.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Load machine payoff using an overhead hoist, thread material through the machine manually, then jog it through the cutting press.
- Input data into the shop floor PC, verify labels against computer data, and ensure correct application on corresponding rolls.
- Select, clean, and install spacers and knives on shafts.
- Thread sheeting through the slitter and verify dimensions match specifications.
- Secure slit strips on cores, adjust guides and roller tension, and start the machine.
- Monitor the slitting and rewinding operation, inspecting cut strips for flatness, wrinkles, and defects.
- Communicate scrap, mechanical, or quality issues promptly.
- Arrange roll stacking according to packaging specifications.
- Meet daily productivity, quality, and scrap standards.
- Complete and submit required paperwork daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Safety-conscious
- Able to stand for entire shift
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- At least 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- High School Diploma or equivalent required

- Talk and reach with hands and arms frequently
- Work with sharp tools such as knives and ledgers
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Lift up to 12 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Work Environment
Employees will encounter:
- Moving mechanical parts and vibration regularly
- Occasional exposure to humid conditions, heights, fumes, chemicals, weather, high heat, and static shock
