Job summary

Materion Corporation in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Slitter Operator to run slitting and tension leveling equipment in a dedicated service center. Under the Elmhurst Production Leader, you will process customer orders efficiently while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 5–10 years of slitting experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to read and measure with micrometers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5–10 years of slitting experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Read, write, and measure with micrometers to tight tolerances.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and email.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Interpersonal skills to provide customer service.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitting and tension leveling equipment.
• Maintain safety and quality procedures in the facility.
• Process customer orders efficiently in a service center environment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and resolve common operating issues.
• Assist with SAP transactions including inventory locators and PI sheet transformations.
• Participate in equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
• Train others as needed.
