Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc in Alliance, OH is hiring a Slitter Operator to set up and operate the slitter, ensuring a quality product on the 3rd shift. Starting pay is $24.49 per hour, with weekly pay and on-site work.

The role requires PPE compliance and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with previous manufacturing experience preferred. Training will cover machine setup, safety, and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Set up the slitter and adjust tooling per work order specifications.
• Operate the machine and monitor for quality defects during runs.
• Inspect tooling before installation and ensure material winds straight.
• Complete inspection sheets and required paperwork for traceability.
• Pre-pack material for shipping and assist with packing as needed.
• Maintain general housekeeping and adhere to PPE requirements.

Wieland is hiring a Slitter Operator. The Slitter Operator will be responsible for the set up and operation of their machine and to ensure a quality product in a safe manner.. This role is located in Alliance, OHand will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $24.49 per hour

Schedule: 3rd Shift 10:00pm-6:30am

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Responsibilities

Slitter Operator Responsibilities:

• Must wear all required PPE.
• Install, unwind, and rewind arbors per the work order specifications.
• Set up machine using tooling sizes and clearances that will meet work order/customer specifications.
• Inspect tooling before installing for any scratches, abrasions, or other defects.
• Set up guide rollers (if applicable) to ensure material will wind up straight without defects.
• Inspect material before loading for any damage or defects.
• After metal is fed through the machine a sample needs taken to check gauge, width, camber, and any other special specifications required by the customer.
• Watch the machine while running to ensure safe operations.
• Make necessary operating adjustments while running to ensure a quality product.
• Inspect material after running to make sure nothing has changed.
• Complete all inspection sheets and quality checks required in the work order.
• Complete all remaining paperwork.
• Tag all restocks, finished goods, or hold material for traceability.
• When order is completed, all tooling taken out needs to be cleaned before returning.
• Pre-pack material for shipping.
• General housekeeping duties; sweeping the floors, trash disposal.
• All other duties assigned.

Slitter Operator Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Minimum one-year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
• The ability to sit and stand for no specific time requirements.
