Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator

We are currently accepting applications and interviewing for Slitter Operators starting at $20/hr. for 3rd shift. This is a Direct-Hire opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate slitting machines to cut film to specified widths, lengths, and diameters, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met or exceeded.
  • Install and align shear or razor blades for slitting feedstock materials.
  • Start the machine, adjust blades and controls using appropriate tools, and monitor operation.
  • Test and adjust settings to meet specifications.
  • Select, clean, and install spacers, lay-on bars, sleeves, and blades to set up the machine according to specifications.
  • Read production schedules and customer specifications to determine setup or adjustments.
  • Thread feedstock from reel through the slitter and secure on rewinder.
  • Observe machine operation and examine rolls for flatness, holes, surface defects, etc.
  • Measure dimensions of rolls using tape measures, gauges, templates, and rulers to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Willingness to work in other departments or areas and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to perform math calculations, including fractions.
  • Ability to read tape measures and micrometers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to stand all day.
