GENERAL PURPOSE:
Assist the production team in multiple areas to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely production of customer jobs while following established processes, procedures, and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with machine setup and changeovers.
- Feed machines with product and materials.
- Visually inspect labels for defects and quality issues.
- Splice rolls together using scissors and tape.
- Slit jobs to required specifications.
- Assist with hand stripping operations.
- Support gathering operations on Folder/Gluer equipment.
- Cut cores for specific job requirements.
- Create labels and Certificates of Compliance.
- Verify that correct materials are available and organized for production runs.
- Clean and maintain equipment and common work areas.
- Move printed and unprinted stock as needed.
- Assist press operators with preventive maintenance activities.
- Assemble print cylinders and gears.
- Perform and review line clearance procedures.
- Remove waste and scrap materials from press areas.
- Operate motorized lifts and material-handling equipment.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Work safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read and understand measurements using a ruler.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Hi-Lo/Forklift License.
- Strong attendance and reliability record.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
