Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in Lincolnton, NC is seeking a part-time Developmental Specialist for sleepover shifts. You will support individuals with mental health diagnoses or developmental disabilities to pursue personal goals, build community connections, and participate in activities aligned with their interests.

The role requires a High School Diploma, a valid US driver's license, and the ability to provide overnight supervision.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• Experience with individuals with mental health diagnoses or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess individuals’ hopes, dreams and desires; provide supports to achieve goals.
• Support individuals in building community relationships and natural supports.
• Help individuals participate in community activities in line with their interests.
• Promote rights and advocacy; assist with advocacy efforts and use of personal advocates.
• Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
• Foster person-centered, positive relationships and self-determination.
• Contribute to assessment, planning and implementation of individual plans.
• Complete required documentation including progress notes and timesheets.
• Attend meetings and trainings; maintain necessary certifications.
• Assist with home operations (housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping, etc.).
• Provide occasional late-night support and transportation as required.
• Ensure safety and emergency procedures are understood and practiced.
• Mentor and train new staff; follow program guidelines and state/federal regulations.
