Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a Sleep Technologist to prepare and monitor sleep studies for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The role involves applying sensors, CPAP acclimatization, and post-study documentation, with scoring of polysomnograms and report preparation.

Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of sleep study experience and a current BLS certification. BRPT or RPSGT certification is required, and weekend duties are included in the schedule.

Qualifications

• Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in sleep disorders, sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respirations.
• One year experience in sleep study activity.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Arrives to work in a timely manner. Reviews the activity list for the night’s duties and patients.
• Reviews assigned patient charts, greets patients, completes appropriate paperwork and pre-test assessment.
• Applies recording sensors, acclimatizes patient to CPAP if applicable, and performs pre-recording calibration.
• Monitors the recording during the evening per protocol including documentation and interventions as needed.
• Ends the recording per protocol, completes appropriate post-study documentation, removal of sensors and cleanup as needed.
• Scores polysomnograms as needed and prepares report for dictation. Assists in training, orientation and competency assessments as needed.
