Job summary

Willis Knighton Health System Sleep Disorders Center seeks a Polysomnographic Technician to perform sleep studies aiding assessment, testing, monitoring, and care of patients with sleep disorders including sleep apnea, RLS, PLMD, REM behavior disorder, narcolepsy, and insomnia.

Candidate must hold BRPT/NBRC/ABSM credentials or Louisiana license and maintain BCLS certification, with demonstrated competency in sleep studies and high professional ethics.

Job description

Willis Knighton System Sleep Disorders Center The Willis Knighton Health System Sleep Disorders Center is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician. This is an individual thatperforms sleep studies to assist in the assessment, testing and monitoring, diagnosis, management and care of patients with sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, restless leg's syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, REM behavior disorder, narcolepsy, insomnia, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have successfully completedone of the exams listed below:

• Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT):
  • CPSGT-CertifiedPolysomnographic Technician
  • CPSGT Credential is non-renewable. Employee must earn RPSGT credential prior to expiration date of CPSGT credential.
  • RPSGT-Registered Polysomnographic Technician
• National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC):
  • CRT-SDS - Certified Respiratory Therapist (If not already SDS, individual must pass exam within 7 months ofhire date)
  • RRT-SDS -Registered Respiratory Therapist (If not already SDS,individual must pass exam within 4 months of hire date)
• American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM):
  • Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
• Individual must have a Louisiana license.
• Individual must be competent in the performance of sleep studies.
• Individual must attain a high standard of professionalism, ethics, and moral character.
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
