Sleep Technician I-II - Sleep Lab - Part-Time Flex (Benefit-Eligible)

Join Christie Clinic as a Sleep Technician I or II in the Sleep Lab at the University clinic in Champaign. This is a part-time flex position (20-40 hours/week) working Monday-Friday from 7:00pm to 7:00am.

Job Overview

Responsibilities include working under medical supervision to perform sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment, patient assessment, operation of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, patient education, and communication with healthcare professionals.

Sleep Tech I Responsibilities
  • Monitor ongoing tests, identify and respond to test data such as arrhythmias and respiratory events.
  • Gather and analyze clinical information to address patient needs.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for testing, ensuring high-quality recordings.
  • Recognize equipment issues and report or resolve them promptly.
  • Document patient care and maintain records.
  • Participate in ongoing education and departmental improvements.
  • Supervise trainees or volunteers if assigned.
Sleep Tech II Responsibilities
  • Score polysomnograms and home sleep tests, generate reports, and participate in quality assurance.
  • Monitor tests, prepare patients, and maintain equipment.
  • Document care, communicate effectively, and participate in departmental improvements.
  • Supervise trainees or volunteers if assigned.
Qualifications
Sleep Tech I
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Registered Sleep Technician (RPSGT) or eligible
  • Basic sleep study scoring skills
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (must obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • Completion of AASM online ASTEP modules or equivalent certification/education
Sleep Tech II
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Registered Sleep Technician (RPSGT)
  • 12 months of clinical sleep testing experience
  • Proficient in sleep study scoring
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (must obtain within 3 months of hire)
Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Includes standing, reaching, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids. May require irregular hours.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay ranges from $23.57/hr to $34.01/hr depending on the role. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, 401k, flexible spending accounts, and more.
