Job summary

University of Utah Health Sleep Wake Center in Salt Lake City seeks a Polysomnographic Technician to perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing and related patient care under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with scoring sleep stages and clinical events, producing accurate reports, and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of a polysomnography program or six months of trainee experience.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential required within 30 days of hire.
• Additional license requirements as determined by the department.

Responsibilities

• Reviews history, physical information, medications and procedure requests.
• Explains procedures and orients the patient to the sleep center.
• Applies electrodes and sensors and PAP mask fittings.
• Follows protocols to ensure collection of accurate data.
• Performs polysomnographic data acquisition and monitors study quality.
• Docs routine observations to facilitate scoring and interpretations.
• Assists with interventions for patient safety and therapeutic modalities.
• Assists with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events.
• Assists with generating accurate reports from sleep/wake and clinical data.
