Job summary

TCH Medical Center is seeking a Manager of the Sleep Lab to oversee clinical and research procedures, establish policies, maintain quality, and direct performance. The role ensures care developmentally appropriate for ages newborn through 21 years and drives growth of the Sleep Lab program.

Responsibilities include supervising technical staff, coordinating education, and collaborating with departments to meet accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• RPSGT certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists is required.
• Five years of technical experience, including two years in supervisory roles and general lab management.

We’re looking for a Manager of the Sleep Lab, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position you will manage all clinical and research procedures of department by establishing policies and procedures, setting standards and objectives for provision of services, maintaining quality improvement, and directing, planning, and evaluating performance. To ensure all job duties are performed developmentally appropriate for patients' ages (newborn to 21 years).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Develops and continually monitors QA standards.
• Monitors employee performance in accordance with established department and IDS guidelines.
• Manages daily operational activities.
• Supervises daily procedure schedule by reviewing initial appointment schedule, accepting, and prioritizing add-on and inpatient requests.
• Adjusts workload to changes in schedule.
• Monitors and orders supplies.
• Ensures the safe and proper functioning of all equipment.
• Interacts with vendors; participates in the selection, testing, and application of new instrumentation.
• Provides patient care.
• Provides direct supervision of the technical staff.
• Represents clinic and technical staff when responding to needs and concerns) Provides and coordinates staff education.
• Provides strategic leadership for program growth in Sleep Lab Expansion and programmatic growth.
• Participates in various IDS projects as appropriate.
• Attends continuing education workshops, seminars, and in-services and fulfills all mandatory education requirements as documented on the staff development register.
• Strives to achieve the goal of accreditation with commendation through the following:
  • oEnsures that JCAHO requirements specific to your department are fulfilled but also understands the linkage between your department’s requirements and those of the integrated delivery system.
  • oCollaborates with colleagues in other departments to ensure all JCAHO requirements are met.
  • oEnsures that AASM requirements are tracked, reported, and met for the department.

Skills & Requirements

• Required 5 years of technical experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience of technical personnel and general laboratory management
