Job summary

The Russett School in Northwich, Cheshire is seeking a Grade 6 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs, learning development and wellbeing. You will work closely with teachers to plan, deliver and adapt activities, building inclusive opportunities. We value safeguarding, teamwork and professional growth.

The role offers 32.5 hours per week during term time with additional inset days. Candidates should show resilience, patience and a collaborative spirit to help every pupil

Qualifications

• Experience with Special Educational Needs and inclusion.
• Patience, empathy and resilience in challenging situations.
• Clear, open communication with pupils, families and staff.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and support colleagues.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with individual learning and development programmes.
• Plan, deliver and adapt activities with teachers to meet needs.
• Support pupils with additional needs and promote inclusion.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Promote independence, confidence and self-esteem.
• Support communication and social development.
• Implement strategies from individual plans.
• Contribute to pupil progress assessments.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, therapists and other professionals.
• Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Model high expectations for all pupils.
• Support less experienced colleagues and foster a positive team culture.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies and procedures.
