SLD Senior Software Engineer, Test Platform – Lunar Permanence

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface.

As a Senior Test Platform Software Engineer, you will support program execution of lunar vehicles, developing software for software-only and hardware-in-the-loop test beds to enable development and verification testing, directly impacting space exploration safety and reliability.

We seek someone with technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for spaceflight and space exploration. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities Include:
  • Design and implement software for test beds
  • Develop rapid prototypes to assess concepts and risks
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to verify software requirements and designs
  • Create documentation for software architecture, verification plans, user manuals, and training materials
  • Follow development and test processes meeting safety and reliability standards
  • Support update cycles for pre-flight testing, mission validation, and training
  • Build and run unit and system-level tests using software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulators
Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. or higher in Software or related engineering field
  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • Proven experience in C/C++, Python
  • Strong familiarity with Linux and real-time software development
  • Experience with agile development processes
  • Full lifecycle software engineering experience
  • Skills in build automation, CI, configuration management, verification, and deployment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful status as specified
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in aerospace safety-critical software testing
  • Experience with spacecraft subsystems and NASA standards
  • Knowledge of space communication protocols and NASA tools
  • Experience as an agile product owner
Additional Details:

Relocation provided. Travel up to 10%. Shifts: Day shift, Monday-Friday onsite. Interviews include a technical assessment.

Compensation Range:

CO: $163,272 - $228,580; WA: $177,567 - $248,594. Other site ranges may differ.
