Job summary

Slate is seeking a Quality Technician to perform quality assurance tasks in our USA manufacturing environment. You will ensure products meet quality standards and collaborate with the Production team on improvements.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in quality control, proficiency with measurement tools, and the ability to read part drawings and engineering specs. ISO/AS quality system familiarity is a plus; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Quality Technician to perform quality assurance tasks. The position is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet or exceed quality standards as well as all safety and environmental requirements are met. This position will be in Quality Control and will collaborate with the Production team as needed.

| WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Knowledge of QC related work instructions, procedures, and calibration/verification requirements of QC equipment.
  • Perform inspections and tests on incoming materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as hard gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, hardness testers, and CMM’s to conduct efficient and accurate part measurement.
  • Assist in the validation and verification of new product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Whether assigned or self-chosen, utilize existing problem-solving skills perpetually in contribution towards continuous improvement efforts in our manufacturing and assembly areas.
  • Perform detailed process audits and drive targeted improvement actions through coaching of others or direct ownership of the resolution.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and production teams to ensure compliance to quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data and other records for work performed.
  • Where skill gaps exist, learn through training or OJT, processes such as calibration, CMM programming, and quality system auditing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Technician in a high-volume manufacturing environment (automotive BIW preferred).
  • Proficiency using a wide range of measurement tools.
  • Ability to interpret part drawings, material, and engineering specifications.
  • A strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, ISO16949, ISO31000)
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment
