Location: Remote, or local to Denver Metro Area, or able to support MST hours

What You’ll Do
  • Support application owners with migrating on-prem SQL Server databases to new domains on new or existing shared infrastructure.
  • Use questionnaires and interviews with app owners to determine rehosting requirements and opportunities, including decommissioning, rehosting on-premises (new or existing shared infrastructure), or cloud migration using Azure (preferred) or AWS IaaS, SQL Managed Instance, or RDS.
  • Identify and convert service accounts (SQL Server or Domain) and RBAC AD groups to the new domain, following latest RBAC best practices and naming conventions.
  • Configure database replication, linked servers, and Availability Groups as needed.
  • Plan and build new SQL Server infrastructure, including resource planning (CPU, Memory, Storage) and documentation, aligned with migration plans.
  • Expand server resources for adding databases to existing shared SQL Server instances or Azure SQL Managed Instance.
  • Plan, install, and configure new SQL Server named instances, including Windows Server Failover Clustering and SQL Clustered Instances following best practices.
  • Plan, install, and configure Azure SQL Managed Instance following established processes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Decommission legacy databases, RBAC, and infrastructure, maintaining proper documentation.
  • Support all aspects of SQL Server infrastructure in conjunction with application migration plans, including upgrades and significant changes like AOAG or cloud migration.
  • Participate in regular status and planning meetings.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5-7 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with SQL migrations.
  • Experience migrating to on-premises environments.
  • Deep knowledge of resource configuration nuances.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server installations and migrations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range for this role is $80 to $95, depending on experience, with actual compensation based on individual skills and qualifications.
